What this site is, and what it is not

The short version

• Nothing here is legal advice. We are not a law firm and we are not your lawyers.

• Our tools produce triage output, not conformity assessments. No result from them means your product is compliant.

Everything published on cra-experts.com, including articles, guides, checklists, the FAQ, the compliance check, the product classifier and any downloadable material, is general information about Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 and related law. It is not legal advice and must not be relied on as legal advice.

We are not a law firm, we are not authorised to provide legal services, and no solicitor or attorney relationship is created by reading this site, using its tools, subscribing to the newsletter, submitting a form, or corresponding with us. Accuracy, and why we cannot promise it

The CRA applies in full from 11 December 2027, with reporting obligations from 11 September 2026. At the time of writing, harmonised standards have not been cited in the Official Journal, notified bodies are still being designated, and the European Commission's guidance is expressly non-binding and subject to revision. Authoritative interpretation of the regulation rests with the Court of Justice of the European Union and with national authorities, not with us.

We cite primary sources, correct errors when we find them, and date every article. Even so, the site is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Content can be out of date the moment a new instrument is published. Always check the primary source before acting.

What our tools do and do not do

The compliance check, the mobile app classifier and any similar tool on this site are triage aids. They take the answers you give and apply our reading of the regulation to them. They do not inspect your product, review your code, examine your technical documentation, or verify anything you tell them.

Their output is an indication of where your product probably sits, useful for planning and for scoping a conversation with an adviser. It is not a conformity assessment, a classification decision, a Declaration of Conformity, or evidence of compliance, and it carries no weight with a market surveillance authority or a notified body. Only you, as the manufacturer, can determine and declare your product's conformity, and only a notified body can carry out third-party conformity assessment where the regulation requires one.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site or its tools. That includes regulatory penalties, enforcement action, lost profit, lost data, business interruption, and the cost of remedial compliance work, whether the claim is framed in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise, and whether or not the loss was foreseeable.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. If any part of this section is held unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply.

We link to EUR-Lex, the European Commission, ENISA, national authorities and other third parties so you can read primary sources yourself. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content or availability, and a link is not an endorsement. Where a link points to a legislative text, the version published in the Official Journal of the European Union governs.

Your use of the site

You may read, quote and share our content with attribution and a link. Do not republish substantial parts of it as your own, scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for other people, or use it to build a competing dataset. Do not submit anything through our forms that is unlawful, or that contains personal data about someone else without a lawful basis for sharing it.

Changes

We update these terms as the site and the regulation change. The date at the top shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
